Major Duties will consist of but not limited to:
Measure, fit and adapt lenses and frames for patient according to written optical prescription or specification. Assist patient with selecting frames. Measure patient's bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance and optical centers of eyes. Prepare work order for optical laboratory with instructions for grinding lenses and fabricating eyeglasses. Adjust frame and lens position to fit patient. Maintain records of patient prescriptions, work orders and payments Work Schedule:

Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes:
knowledge of the basic instruments and diagnostic or treatment procedures commonly used in the specialization; Ability to position patients for examination or treatment and knowledge of usual alternate positions for patients with common physical disabilities; Knowledge of sterilization methods to clean instruments; and knowledges to perform routine diagnostic or treatment procedures. OR Education:
Applicant must have a graduate degree with courses related to this position (Health Technician (Optician). Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned (when substituting, you cannot use the first 60 semester hours that you earned). Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-XX. For example, an applicant who has 9 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e. 50% of graduate education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position A transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education. The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion. It may involve walking, frequent bending, reaching and stretching to set up and take apart equipment; lifting and positioning patients; and carrying, pushing, or pulling moderately heavy objects. Duties may require above average dexterity.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
