Compressor Mechanic
Vernon E. Faulconer Inc., a growing Independent East Texas Oil & Gas company with over 35 years in the business, has an opportunity for a detail-oriented Compressor Mechanic located in the Shreveport, Louisiana area. This position performs a vital role in repairing and overhauling engines, compressors, and other equipment.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Performs repairs and troubleshooting on rotating equipment.
o Responsible for performing equipment alignment, deflection, and required millwright work.
o Performs electrical and electronic repairs and troubleshooting.
o Proficient mechanical troubleshooting of problems on all equipment.
o Responsible for hookup piping on compressor and vessels, as needed.
o Adheres to all Company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
o Responsible for site inspections to make required repairs or identify areas of concern to be addressed.
o Performs rebuilding of starters, clutches, and other auxiliary equipment.
o Proficient in the operation of tools and auxiliary equipment to accomplish job responsibilities.
o Performs work in shop operations and field operations, as required.
o Reports to the Production Foreman.
Qualifications:
o A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
o Technical school certificate and/or diploma in compressor or engine mechanics preferred.
o A minimum of 2
years experience with maintenance operations preferred.
o Strong mechanical aptitude required.
o Demonstrated proficiency in engine analysis, welding, and cutting operations preferred, but not required.
o Working knowledge of oil and gas surface production equipment preferred, but not required.
o Good communication skills to interact effectively with members of small and large teams.
o Demonstrated willingness and ability to work unscheduled hours if required.
