Job Concepts:
The qualified person will assist in all aspects of the project aimed at understanding the mechanisms of protein synthesis, cellular growth and development. Projects will include the use of techniques for handling recombinant DNA, RNA, and protein analysis and preparation, antibody production, enzymatic assays, in vitro transcription and translation reactions. Experience in the following techniques is preferred: DNA and RNA purification, restriction analysis, DNA sub-cloning and sequencing, PCR, Western and Far-Western blot analysis, and affinity chromatography methods. The duties will be conducted under the supervision of a faculty member in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scientific writing, routine laboratory maintenance, inventory control, and general assistance to the activities of laboratory staffEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
