Staff Development Coordinator - Full-Time

Seeking RN Staff Development nurse with experience in long term care.
Purpose of Your Job Position:
The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize! develop! and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the faciHty in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and a.

Duties and
Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, direct, evaluate, and coordinate educational and on-the-job training programs.
Incorporate commercially produced instruction material and training aids into existing in-service programs a.
, deemed necessary.
Provide leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of the in-service educational programs of this facility.
Develop, evaluate and control the quality of in-service educational programs in acoordance with established policies and procedures.
Secure, develop and maintain recotd, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc.
, pertinent to insetvice educational programs.
Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary form, reports, class, attendance, and subject records, etc.
Make written and oral reports/reoornmendations to the administrator concernin inwservice trainin ro rams.
Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the in- service educational ro ams.
Work with the facility's consultants as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
Assist department directors in obtaining and scheduling of speakers to present in-service training programs.
Ensure that in-service training classrooms or areas are properly prepared before trainin classes be in.
Delegate authority, responsibility, and accountability to other personnel.
Assist in standardizing the methods in whieh work will be accomplished.
Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Coordinator in developing and implementing a quality assurance program for in-service traning.
Develop, direct and schedule refresher training, as necessary, for assigned staff and licensed rofesslonal ersonnel.
Remain current on new developments by attending professional institutions, readin rofcssional 'ournals and attendin rofossional seminars.
Attend and participate in your professional associations activities and programs, etc.
, to assure that you keep abreast of current regulations and guidelines, as well as professional standards, and make recommendations on changes in licenses and procedures to the administrator.
Develop and participate in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of orientation programs that orient newly hired personnel to their position, the facilities policies and procedures, resident rights and responsibilities, etc.
Assist licensed nursing personnel (i.
e.
, RNs, LPNs, and Nurse Aides) in obtaining in-service training to keep their license current in accordance with state law.
Provide in-service training as necessary/required.
Assist the administrator in developing the Nurse Aide Training curriculum used b the facility.
Submit to state agency as required.
Ensure that all personnel attend and participate in annual facility in-service training programs (e.
g.
, OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Safety, Infection Control, Fire and Disaster Pre aredness, etc.
) Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned or that may become necessary.
Assistin the development of the in-service training budget.
Ensure that copies of lesson plans, instructor's qualifications, etc.
, are filed in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures.
Others as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the administrator.
Agree not to disclose assigned user ID code and password for accessing resident/facility information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.

Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility's information system.
Working Conditions:
Works in office areas, training rooms, resident rooms, exam rooms; etc,, as necessary.
Moves intermittently during working hours, May work flexible hours.
ls subject to frequent Interruptions.
Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary, as well as in other positions as needed.
Is subject to caII back during emergency conditions (e.
g.
, severe weather, evacuation, post diaster, etc.
).
Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession, as well as to maintain your license on a current status.
Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc.
, including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
Position may require out of town travel.
ls subject to iltjury from falls, bums from equipment, odors, etc.
, throughout the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
Communicates with department directors to determine departmental training needs.
May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Education Must possess, as a minimum, two (2) years college.
Experience Must have1 as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a nursing care facility.
Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice oftesching, etc.
Must possess skills in leadership and communication.
Must possess creativity, integrity, and initiative.
Specific Requirements Must be able 10 read, write, speak, and understand the English language, Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide training appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
Must be a supponive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to Incorporate them into existing training practices, Must possess the ability to plan and develop new programs.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents and staff.
Must be able to relate in.

Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety to other Individuals in the workplace.
