SUMMARYPerforms and assists in performing internal audits including, but not limited to, loans, wire transfers and ACH, collections, official checks, investments, cash items, interbank liabilities and Fed Funds, other assets and other liabilities, ORE, other income and expenses, demand, savings, and time deposits, fixed assets, capital, and safekeeping.Assist the Branch Audit Specialist in auditing cash, suspense items, safe deposit boxes, night deposits, and monitoring monthly self-audit documentation from the branches.Also may be asked to assist on internal control reviews for 12 CFR Part 363 FDICIA / COSO compliance.JOB REQUIREMENTS Good interpersonal communication and computer skills Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or commensurate banking experience 3-5 years of experience in internal or external audit SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS Perform safety and soundness audits according to written procedures. Develop, organize, and maintain work papers that support procedures and audit conclusions. Write reports based on audit conclusions to be presented to the Audit Committee. Present findings to the Audit Committee with support from other audit staff. Perform other duties as required, consistent with the goals, objectives, and responsibilities of the Internal Audit Department and with the approval of the Audit Committee. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
