The Social Worker has responsibility for the continuing development, management, implementation and supervision of HUD/ VASH program operations. In this capacity, he/she plans and directs the rehabilitation/treatment functions, coordinating activities of staff assigned to the Program, whatever the discipline, in cooperation with Mental Health Service. The incumbent is responsible for the overall coordination of a designated Program under the supervision of that specific program director and/or clinical supervisor. Responsibilities include a broad range of administrative and patient care duties, to include, but are not limited to the following:
Plans, develops and maintains a network of relationships with community resources and other advocates for those experiencing homelessness to effectively screen and identify Veteran members of the homeless population
Interviews potential clients, interprets VHA guidelines and eligibility requirements and completes apsychosocial history, assessment and Individual treatment plan.
Develops an appropriate treatment plan.
Documents the patient assessment and all treatment plans in accordance with the requirements of MedicalCenter policy and requirements of various accrediting bodies.
Provides clinical services to clients.
Provides direct social work, mental health, and substance abuse services for Veterans and family members or significant others in support of the Veteran's treatment.
Makes routine visits a minimum of one time weekly to new program participants, and one time monthly to each Veteran inresidence to assess their environment and provide on-going clinical services.
Explains client's treatment and progress towards rehabilitation to third parties with jurisdiction, remainingunbiased in the presentation even though consequences are far-reaching and potentially permanent.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Basic Requirements:
Citizenship. Must be a U. S. Citizen
Education: Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work _may not_be substituted for the master's degree in social work.
Licensure: Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

English Language Proficiency: Social workers must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j
Experience, Education and Licensure. Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator or manager _must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level_ . Their experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. They may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience.
Specialized
Experience: At least two years should be in an area of specialized social work practice.Social workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an ASWB advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examination for advanced practice).Social workers may have certification or other post-masters training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience in a specialty.
Assignments. GS-12 Social Worker. The Social Workers GS-12 gradeare administratively responsible for aclinical program providing treatment to patients in a major specialty, such as Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) coordinators, Visual Impairment ServicesTeam (VIST) coordinators, Homeless Veterans Program (HVP) coordinators, Community Nursing Home Program (CNHP)coordinators. They may be the sole practitioner in this specialty at the facility and typically provide direct patient care services in the programarea. They manage the daily operation of the program, develop policies and procedures for program operation, and prepare reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use. They may be responsible for the program's budget.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
