This potential opportunity will provide one (1) Construction Manager (CM) support to the NAVFAC Southeast, ROICC Barksdale AFB, located at Shreveport, LA, contingent upon contract award.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSE, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, OR OTHER EXPERTISE REQUIRED.
Must have a degree in engineering from a four year accredited ABET university
Extensive technical and practical knowledge, and experience as a Construction Manager.
Sound understanding of engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to civil, mechanical, electrical, and/or environmental engineering concerned with the design, layout, and supervision of construction operations.
Ability to prepare or review technical engineering specifications and statements of work covering complex and diverse engineering designs or changes.
Thorough knowledge of construction practices and methods as well as construction management.
Ability to write and speak to report on progress and outcome of technical assignments and to present recommendations.
Ability to monitor construction projects to a successful and timely completion.
Knowledge of Primavera SureTrak scheduling software and/or other construction scheduling software packages.
Knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws and regulations as they relate to engineering performance requirements.
Qualified candidate MUST favorably complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or equivalent national security clearance check for issuance of a Common Access Card. If candidate holds a valid national security clearance, additional submission will not be required.
The following are highly desired:
Professional certifications such as:
-Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
-Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar
Knowledge of NAVFAC construction practices
Current certificate for OSHA Standards for Construction Industry (OSHA 510) course
Current certificate for Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractor course
Prior experience in DoD military construction ideal
Primavera P6 scheduling experience
Cost estimating experience
2-wks paid vacation (after 1st year), 10 paid Federal holidays
